Marsh’s 49-Ball LSG Ton & Pant Blitz Set RCB 213 DLS Target | IPL 2026 Match 50 Innings Break
Marsh’s Monsoon Hits Ekana —
Record 49-Ball Ton, Pant’s Cameo Set RCB a Daunting 213
Mitchell Marsh produced the innings of his IPL life — a 49-ball century, the fastest in LSG history — as Lucknow Super Giants powered to 209/3 in a rain-shortened 19 overs. Rishabh Pant added a fiery 10-ball 32, and Nicholas Pooran finished unbeaten on 34. After a lengthy rain break, RCB now face a revised target of 213 under the DLS method.

LSG Innings — 209/3 (19 Overs)
RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and, reading the overcast skies and a traditionally sticky Ekana surface, chose to bowl first. For a brief moment, the move appeared justified as Bhuvneshwar Kumar started with a tight over. But Mitchell Marsh had other ideas. The burly Australian launched a savage assault, reaching fifty in just 20 balls — the fastest half-century of his IPL career — and then, in the 14th over, clubbed a six off Bhuvneshwar to bring up his hundred in just 49 deliveries. It was the fastest century by any LSG batter, beating Rishabh Pant’s 54-ball record set earlier this season.
Marsh’s knock was a masterclass in clean hitting. He struck 9 fours and 9 sixes, with a strike rate of 198.21, targeting the straight boundaries with devastating regularity. Arshin Kulkarni (19 off 14) played the supporting role at the top, but it was captain Pant who provided the ignition at the death. His 10-ball 32, featuring three fours and three sixes, left the crowd breathless before he fell to Josh Hazlewood. Nicholas Pooran then stepped in with a cool 34* off 18 deliveries, smashing three sixes himself. When rain arrived at 14:54 local time, LSG were 169/2 after 16 overs; post-resumption, they added 40 more in the remaining three overs to finish at 209/3. The DLS system then set RCB a formidable target of 213 from their 19 overs.

What’s Next — RCB Need a Historic Chase
Chasing 213 on a slow Ekana surface is a monumental task. RCB’s top order — Virat Kohli, Jacob Bethell, and Rajat Patidar — must fire in unison. The LSG bowling attack, led by Prince Yadav and the returning Mohammed Shami, will back itself to defend on a pitch that historically favours bowlers. This innings break report will be updated with full second-innings details as the chase unfolds. Stay tuned for the complete match report soon.
