Hailing from the state of Orissa, Biplab Samantray is a right-handed middle-order batsman and a right-arm medium tempo bowler. He made his first class debut within the 2010-11 Ranji Trophy in opposition to Baroda.
Samantray had an outstanding debut as he struck his maiden first class fifty and established himself within the Orissa batting line-up. He was once signed through the Deccan Chargers, now referred to as Sunrisers Hyderabad forward of the 5th IPL season in 2012.
